Known for his passion for music, Dock Boggs "not only lived through Cumberland's long night but... prevailed over it. He has mastered it and infused it's raw spirit and tragic temperament into his old songs," writes Jon Pankake in the liner notes. This album was recorded in 1964 at Boggs' sister's house, and Mike Seeger provides guitar accompaniment.
