Based on the Curious George books by H.A. and Margret Rey, the Curious George animated series is fun, educational programming aimed at children ages 2 to 7. George is a curious little monkey who loves dancing to music, but when he receives an invitation to a friend's dance party in "School of Dance," he and his human friend Bill are concerned that they don't know the proper dance steps. The man in the yellow hat can't dance either, but the ever-resourceful George finds a way for all of them to learn the box step. The music theme continues when George unexpectedly ends up filling in as a DJ on a local radio station--good thing this little monkey can follow directions! George discovers that he likes opera when he goes to see Hansel and Gretel, but the best part of the experience is finding a way to bring the opera back home to a sick friend. George's creativity and resourcefulness shine when he collaborates with a friend to throw a surprise party and make a piñata in "Mother's Day Surprise," helps another friend retrieve some runaway homework in "Follow That Boat," and creates his very own automated car wash in "George and Allie's Automated Car Wash." In "Relax," George and the man in the yellow hat discover that relaxation comes in many forms and that sometimes helping someone relax can he downright exhausting. A short live-action segment featuring real kids follows each Curious George episode to help reinforce the concepts presented in each program. --Tami Horiuchi
